Another especially significant moment in the history of the Museum of Roman Culture was the Augustan Exhibition of Romanitas, which took place in 1937 in the Palazzo of the Exhibition under the direction of G. Q. Giglioli to celebrate to bi-millennium of the birth of Augustus, and led to a considerable increase in the material on display in the Museum of the Roman Empire.
